Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): The sudden spike in COVID-19 cases in Khordha district, Chief of Directorate of Medical Education and Training (DMET) has declared the district as red zone, informed on Wednesday.
Addressing to media, DMET CBK Mohanty said Khordha district has been declared red zone, keeping in mind the sudden spike in the positivity rate of COVID-19 cases in the capital city Bhubaneswar.
According to sources, the gathering at marketplaces in Cuttack and Khordha districts has considerably increased in this festive season, due to which the spike in the positive cases has been witnessed.
Mohanty said that the average positive cases in the district have increased from around 400 to 600. He also advised the public to stay at home as much as possible and follow COVID 19 guidelines properly.
Notably, a total of 10,33,288 people in Odisha have been affected by the virus, out of which, 5203 are active cases and 10,19,764 people have been cured.
