Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau):  The India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed that another low pressure area is very likely to form over north Andaman sea around October 10.

The low pressure likely to move west-northwestwards towards south Odisha and north coastal Andhra Pradesh coast during subsequent 4-5 days, said Met department today.

On the other hand, the ECMWF model indicates that the system may approach Visakhapatnam-Kakinada coasts around October 15.

The IMD in its ‘North Indian Ocean Extended Range Outlook for Cyclogenesis’ issued on September 30 had forecasted formation of two low pressure areas over Bay of Bengal between October 8 and 14.

“Models are indicating development of a fresh low pressure area (LPA) during first half of week 2 (October 8-14) over west central and adjoining southwest Bay of Bengal and another LPA over east central Bay of Bengal and adjoining north Andaman Sea during later part of week 2,” the IMD had said.

Worth mentioning, the 1999 Super Cyclone, Cyclone Phailin (2013), Cyclone Hudhud (2014) and Cyclone Titli (2018) occured in the month of October.
