Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): The Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar on Friday informed that Odisha may receive heavy downpour this week as one more low pressure is likely to form over Bay of Bengal tomorrow.
This will be the second low pressure over the Bay of Bengal off Odisha coast less than four days.
“Under influence of a cyclonic circulation over Eastcentral Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood, a Low Pressure Area is likely to form over Central Bay of Bengal during next 24 hours. It is very likely to move westnorthwestward and concentrate into a Depression during subsequent 48 hours,” informed IMD.
Due to possible low pressure, heavy rainfall is expected in several parts of the State in upcoming days.
On September 6, a low pressure area was formed over the Northwest and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal off south Odisha and north Andhra Pradesh coasts.
