Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): The Regional Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar on Friday informed that Odisha may witness above normal rainfall in the month of September as a low pressure is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal around 6th September, 2021.
Prediction claims that above normal activity of rainfall is expected during September. The rainfall will help reducing the deficit rainfall that occurred between June and August this year.
Meanwhile, the IMD issued heavy rainfall and thunderstorm alert for several districts of Odisha till September 7 starting from today.
Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Nuapada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Kandhamal, Rayagada and Nayagarh.
Similarly, heavy to very heavy rainfall likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Angul, Dhenkanal, Sonepur and Balangir.
