Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): The upcoming Monsoon of this year brings scare of dengue illness as well to Bhubaneswar. But the scare havocs on State Odisha as around 10 to 15 patients with dengue positives are being admitted to the hospital every day, informed Laxmidhar Mohapatra, the director of Capital Hospital on Monday.
“Now, total 56 dengue patients are undergoing treatment at the hospital. On Sunday, at least 87 people with fever symptom underwent dengue test. There is no shortage of beds for dengue patients as there is a decline in the number of COVID-19 cases,” briefing to media persons said Mohapatra.
Further he cautioned that, the rising number of dengue cases may leads to shortage of platelets which ultimately cause negative impact on the patients. However, currently as many as around 15 platelets are being provided to Capital Hospital every day for dengue patients’ treatment.
Earlier on July 31, Cuttack Municipal Commissioner (CMC) informed that eight new cases of the mosquito-borne disease were identified from different parts of the city.
