Puri (SunstarTV Bureau): To prevent the spread of COVID various during Shri Jagannath, Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra’s sacred Rath Jatra in Puri, a three days long curfew will be enforced from July 11.
According to Puri district administration from the curfew to come into force from 8.00 pm of July 11 till 8.00 am of July 13, 2021.
Meanwhile, a section 144 will be clamped in Puri town during the period. Moreover, all the entry and exit points to remain shut in Puri town.
According to Puri Sub-collector Bhabataran Sahoo, if the necessities arise the restrictions may be further extended in the pilgrim town.
For safety purpose, the police officials, those are out of duty during Ratha Jatra, will not be allowed to visit Puri till July 24. Further, no other police officials to be allowed during this mentioned period, said the DGP.
But the police officials may be allowed to Puri with permission of the ADG from the police headquarters, incase of any government related work raise.
