SunstarTV Bureau: Recently two most popular electronic media houses in the country held a survey (ABP news- C Voter Desh ka Mood Survey) and (India Today Group- Karvy Insights Mood of the Nation). To everybody’s surprise, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s government received an overwhelming response at the survey which also included the “Most Popular Chief Minister of the Country” title. The survey findings clearly silenced the critics who felt Odisha didn’t fare well in the Covid management system.
Naveen’s visionary personality and his transparent governance approach have been widely accepted by Odisha people. The septuagenarian leader has been at top time and again thanks to the unshakeable faith of people in him. 21 summers ago, a gentleman by accident landed in the world of politics in the year 2000. Back then, Odisha’s economy had crippled due to the devastating impact of the Super Cyclone that hit the state’s coastline in October 1999. It was claimed that the natural calamity had affected over 10 million lives and livelihood in the state. Nevertheless, Naveen’s tenacious fortitude took him to the zenith. Neither he spoke Odia nor was he familiar with Odisha. Biju Janata Dal was founded very early at that time in 1997, his endeavor towards the Party made authentic trust by the People.
He has always cracked the whip on corruption and dropped celebrants on the basis of charge. His haphazard frame of mind was a talking point among all bureaucrats in the State. Naveen trusts people only on the basis of their political or bureaucratic performance. A firm believer of woman empowerment, he has spearheaded several path-breaking initiatives that have benefited the women community at large. Infact, he was the pioneer to introduce women’s participation in Odisha politics. Apart from politics, Naveen’s knack for sports was visible when Hockey Men’s World Cup was successfully organized in Bhubaneswar in 2018. Since then, Bhubaneswar has emerged as the sports capital of the country.
And yes, who can forget his deftful handling of COVID-19 Pandemic situation. While most of the Indian states initially struggled to handle the stressful times, Naveen and his team have been on their toes to ensure maximum safety to the people.As soon as the pandemic struck, he arranged special flights, buses and trains to bring home the migrant laborers working outside the state safely. Even the students were repatriated safely because of the government’s timely intervention. From arranging the covid vaccines for the people to introducing welfare schemes for the covid orphaned children, Naveen has been a trendsetter even during the pandemic times. He has stood for the people like a pillar and assured that he would serve the people till his last breath.
