Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): Amid the spontaneous raise in the Odisha Government on Tuesday has directed all collectors and commissioners to follow the changes made by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in the Co-Win portal for the second dose of Covid-19 vaccination.
As per a notification, the State Health and Family Welfare department urged the concerned officials to disseminate the changes made by the Ministry among the programme officers, programme managers, vaccinators / verifiers in their jurisdictions to strictly follow the same.
“Further online or on-site appointment will not be possible, if the period after 1st dose date for a beneficiary is less than 84 days,” the notification said.
“Already booked online appointments for the second dose will remain valid and are not being cancelled by Co-WIN. The beneficiaries shall be informed about the revised schedule for the second dose and shall be advised to re-schedule their appointment for a later date beyond the 84th day from date of first dose. vaccination,” it stated.
“However. if a pre-booked beneficiary chooses to take the second dose of vaccine even if the period for him/her is less than 84 days, Co-WiN system will allow vaccination of such beneficiary,” it further stated.”In this context, I am to reiterate that the online appointments booked for 2nd dose of Covishield prior to this changed must be honoured.
Vaccinators / Verifiers / Programme Officers should be instructed that if such beneficiaries do come for vaccination the second dose must be administered and they should not be turned away,” the notification read.
