Cuttack (SunstarTV Bureau): While many serious Covid patients are undergoing treatment at SCB Medical college and Hospital here, the frequent and unscheduled power cut has been putting respirator patients’ life under risks.
Some kin have launched complaint against the issue which yet to be heeded by the hospital workers.
kin of the patients waiting outside the isolation ward alleged that the hospital authorities had turned mute even as the institute witnessed around five times load shedding within a span of four hours.
The special Covid ward at the leading health institute has 100 beds. Many serious patients are also on ventilator which doesn’t run without electricity.
Even as the hospital has generator set to address the power outage problems, it didn’t serve the purpose during the time of need, attendants alleged.
With special Covid care centre, the hospital is a key institute in the State, which has been providing multi-specialty services to the patients free of cost.
However, the hospital authorities and electricity staffs are not available to comment on the matter.
