Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): As per a Global Forcast model of US, a cyclonic storm is likely to form over Bay of Bengal on May 13 and head towards Odisha-West Bengal coast.
Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) yet to issue any forecast and bulletins regarding cyclonic storm across state.
According to the Director of Centre of Environment and Climate (CEC) Dr Sarat Chandra Sahu, “a cyclonic circulation is likely to form over south Bay of Bengal around May 10-11. However, it is not likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm. The strength of the possible cyclonic storm can be clearly ascertained in the next 2-3 days.”
Besides, as per the model, a cyclonic circulation is likely to form over Bay of Bengal around May 10. It is likely to intensity into a depression around May 12 and further into a cyclonic storm around May 13, the model predicted.
On the other hand, several other models have indicated that the system will be limited to a cyclonic circulation only.
