Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): In view of the soaring Covid-19 cases in Odisha, the single day spike as many as 2989 persons tested positive and two succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours recorded.
Among the positive cases detected in State, a total of 1,733 cases were reported from quarantine centers while the rest 1,256 were local transmission cases reported.
According to Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) Department the two death cases were reported from Kalahandi and Keonjhar districts each.
While nine districts registered a three-digit figure, Sundargarh district topped the list with 631 cases, followed by Khordha with 438 cases, Kalahandi with 260 cases, Cuttack with 208 cases, Nuapada with 151 cases and Sambalpur with 148 cases.
With insertion of yesterday’s Covid-19 cases, the number of total cases in the State surged to 3,58,342 while 1,935 have succumbed to the disease till date and 3,41,733 patients have been recovered.
Meanwhile, the active cases in the State recorded at 14,621 on Thursday, added the Health and Family Welfare Department. And with this, Odisha’s positivity rate stands at 3.76 per cent.
