Berhampur (SunstarTV Bureau): The Central Government has announced the National Panchayat Awards 2021, where as many as six awards in different categories bagged Ganjam district of Odisha.
The information has given by the official handle of Odisha Chief Minister on Friday.
“In yet another achievement for #Odisha’s effort to empower Panchayati Raj Institutions, Ganjam has bagged six National Panchayat Awards 2021, announced by the Centre, in various categories. Congratulations to all the awardees on this success. #OdishaLeads,” tweeted CMO Odisha.
As per given information, two blocks- Hinjilicut and Seragada and four gram panchayats – Badakhandi, Ramachandrapur, Adapada and Badaborasingi have received the prestigious awards for their good performance even in COVID-19 pandemic.
Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Sashaktikaran Puraskar (DDUPSP) awards have been conferred to Hinjilicut Block, Seragada Block, Badakhandi Gram Panchayat and Ramachandrapur Gram Panchayat.
The DDUPSP award is given to best performing blocks and panchayats in recognition of the good work at each level for improving delivery of services and public goods.
Meanwhile, Adapada Gram Panchayat has bagged the Nanaji Deshmukh Rashtriya Gaurav Gram Sabha Puraskar 2021 (NDRGGSP) for its outstanding contribution to the socio-economic development in the area.
Similarly, the Child-friendly Gram Panchayat Award (CFGPA) has been given to Badaborasingi Gram Panchayat for adopting child-friendly practices.
