Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): Teachers above 45 years old from private and government schools in Bhubaneswar will soon to receive the Covid-19 vaccine in Odisha’s Capital city Bhubaneswar, informed Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Tuesday.
The decision has kept over the raising numbers of Covid-19 cases in different educational institutions here.
According to BMC Commissioner Prem Chandra Choudhary, “We have prepared a list of 20,000 people belonging to 5 priority categories- teachers aged above 45 yrs at government and private schools, makeshift vendors, mall, restaurant and Electricity department staff in Bhubaneswar. We aim to include them in Covid-19 vaccination drive in a month or two.”
Meanwhile, the State government has set target of 6,000 daily tests in Bhubaneswar. Hence, vaccination process to kick start from April 1.
Notably, on Monday Bhubaneswar registered 32 fresh Covid-19 cases while 26 cases reported from local contacts and the remaining six were from quarantine.
