Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): In last 24 hours, on Friday report has viewed a fresh record of Covid-19 where 234 persons have tested positive for the infection in State, informed the State I&PR Department.
Among 234, total 139 positive cases were detected in quarantine centres while the rest 95 cases are from local transmission.

Nuapada reported the maximum 33 cases which were followed by Khordha (32), Cuttack (29), Bargarh (24) and Kalahandi (17). While Sundargarh and Bolangir recorded 15 cases each, Sambalpur reported 11 cases.
Notably, on Thursday, the State’s Covid-19 figures had crossed the 200 mark after a gap of over two months when 214 persons had tested positive with the deadly virus. The urgency of the situation was felt when a student from the Kendriya Vidyalaya in the Capital City tested positive for the infection which was followed by three more cases at the Ravenshaw University in adjoining Cuttack.
Meanwhile, amid the growing cases of coronavirus in the State, the Special Relief Commissioner today issued a notification which prohibited congregations in public places during Good Friday, Easter, Pana Sankranti/Jhamu Jatra, Danda Jatra and Sriram Navami.

However, religious rituals in churches, temples and other places of worship will continue with limited people and with strict adherence to Covid protocols.
