SunstarTV Bureau: The Odisha Government has restricted Holi celebration considering the stake in COVID 19 cases in the state this year. Apart from the celebration the restriction has also been imposed on Dola Jatra observance.
The order imposed by the Special Relief Commissioner states as“Holi on March 28th and 29th and other related rituals shall not be observed in public places throughout the state. People may celebrate Holi with family members in their houses only but restricted in public places including public roads. The order further continues as “ Gatherings for the celebration of dola jatra and other associated rituals and cultural assembly shall not be allowed in public places throughout the state . Religious rituals in temples will continue as per the strict observance to covid protocols . Considering local conditions, Collectors and Municipal Commissioners may impose appropriate restri ction on entry of devotees into temples and celebrations in temples and religious places.”
“Dola Melan, if any, may be allowed with appropriate number of participants as decided by the Collectors/Municipal Commissioners in their respective jurisdictions with strict adherence of Covid appropriate behaviour and norms,” the order added.
