Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): Amid the new strain of Covid-19 in various states like Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, the State Government has issued fresh guidelines to prevent the spread of virus in state.
The Health and Family Welfare department directed people to follow appropriate Covid guidelines to stay away from the deadly new strain virus even as the situation has remained under control in Odisha.
Meanwhile, the daily positive cases in the State are hovering below one hundred, report said.
The new strain has developed certain symptoms in People like fever, nausea, vomiting and body ache, diarrhea, loss of appetite, sore throat and nasal congestion. The major cause of concern is that the new variant of the virus can remain alive on the dry object for around eight days. It can enter the human body so easily than the older one.
The government also has suggested people to take the vaccination shot when their turn comes. Even after taking the vaccine, continue to wear mask, wash hand frequently and maintain physical distance and avoid public gathering, it said.
“We should remain very careful and cautious to ensure appropriate Covid norms in school, colleges, temple and markets,” the department said in a statement.
The government has advised people coming from outside of State to remain under home isolation for seven days at least. If any Covid like symptoms developed in body, and then they are advised to contact the health care asap, the Health department stated in its advisory.
Notably, the Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had also appealed to people to follow the Covid guidelines and achieve the ‘zero infection’ target.
