Washington (SunstarTV Bureau): Amid Covid-19 pandemic, the global cases of Coronavirus have topped the list to 116.8 million, while the death toll have surged to more than 2.59 million marks, informed Johns Hopkins University.
The latest report on Wednesday morning, the University’s Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) revealed about the current global caseload and death rates stood at 116,817,145 and 2,592,768 respectively.
However, the US with Covid-19 case loads and death toll mounted to 28,991,537 and 524,987 respectively, along with it named as the worst hit country in world. Meanwhile, India secured the second place in terms of cases at 11,210,799.
Brazil counts the second highest number of Covid-19 fatalities at 265,411, followed by Mexico (190,357) on the third place and India (157,756) on the fourth.
According to CSSE report, the other countries with more than a million confirmed Coronavirus cases are Brazil (11,019,344), Russia (4,274,263), the UK (4,231,166), France (3,964,078), Spain (3,149,012), Italy (3,067,486), Turkey (2,780,417), Germany (2,508,655), Colombia (2,276,656), Argentina (2,149,636), Mexico (2,125,866), Poland (1,794,914), Iran (1,689,692), South Africa (1,521,068), Ukraine (1,449,741), Indonesia (1,379,662), Peru (1,364,964), Czech Republic (1,321,331) and the Netherlands (1,135,258).
Fatalities records of the nations with a death toll above 50,000 are the UK (124,736), Italy (99,785), France (88,727), Russia (87,614), Germany (71,956), Spain (71,138), Iran (60,687), Colombia (60,503), Argentina (52,880) and South Africa (50,678).
