Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Monday informed about the Jagara jatra celebration at Lingaraj temple in Bhubaneswar, this year to be observed under strict Covid-19 guidelines.
The BMC Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary was chaired a meeting with the representatives of the sevayat groups and trust bodies of the noted temple and discussed about the observance of the festival with strict adherence to Covid-19 protocols.
Chaudhary further informed that, elder people aged above 60 years and children below 12 years will not be allowed inside Lingaraj temple during the occasion. However, devotees also not be allowed to enter the sanctum sancorum (Garbha Gruha) of the temple and darshan will be allowed from Ada Katha during the Sahana Mela.
Meanwhile, sanitation and thermal screening will be made at the entrance and devotees can only enter and exit through Singhadwara and Uttaradwara,Dakshindwara of the shrine respectively. Barricades will also be installed inside and outside of the temple as per precautionary measure, said BMC Commissioner.
Besides, devotees are allowed to lightning lamp inside and outside of the temple by keeping in view the availability to space among people.
