The monsoon starts withdrawing from western parts of the country from September 17 every year. This year, the seasonal wind commenced withdrawal with a delay of 19 days from October 6 onwards.

Despite late withdrawal, the weather scientists are predicting that the monsoon will withdraw completely from India by October 15 this year.

“The cyclonic circulation over north Andaman Sea and neighbourhood extending upto 5.8 km above mean sea level persists. Under its influence a low pressure area is very likely to form over the same region during next 36 hours,” tweeted Met department today.
