SunstarTV Bureau: Yesterday on India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday the East Coast Railway (ECoR) has launched Rail Kaushal Vikas Yojana under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, with a view to train unemployed youth on different skills.
Union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw inaugurated the scheme through video conference from New Delhi on Friday.
According to Vaishnaw, under the scheme unemployed youth will be given training on different skills and develop themselves for entrepreneurship or for jobs in different industries. The training will provide placement support to the youth of the region. The growth of industrial sectors will require skilled manpower. Promoting skill development will hence facilitate industrial growth.
Unemployed youth aged between 18 and 35 with minimum qualification of matriculation will be provided training on skill development free of cost. On successful completion of training, the participants will be given certificates. The ECoR has planned to train 2,500 youths of the region.
On the occasion, ECoR GM Vidya Bhushan along with other senior officials was present at Carriage Repair Workshop here and interacted with the trainees.
