Gujarat (SunstarTV Bureau): The Shiv Sena in its mouthpiece ‘Saamana’ on Tuesday alleged that former Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani was changed to counter anti-incumbency against him ahead of the 2022 state Assembly polls. It said the ‘bubble’ of the Gujarat model of development has burst. “The government machinery has clearly crumbled during COVID-19,” the Shiv Sena added.
The Shiv Sena has also claimed that the BJP’s Gujarat development model has collapsed.
Shiv Sena further said that Gujaratis are very dissatisfied with the BJP over the deteriorating health care in the second wave of COVID-19. Perhaps BJP has come to realize that the influential party is also angry with the party. For this reason the BJP has reshuffled its leadership after Vijay Rupani and made Bhupendra Patel the Chief Minister.
Shiv Sena, a former ally of the BJP said, “It was happening in Congress as well and we had to call it democracy.” However, the BJP has buckled up with similar tradition. The Chief Minister has been abruptly removed from office. Shiv Sena has demanded that the ballot box of Gujarat’s model of development, governance and democracy be blown up. Shiv Sena, through an editorial, questioned that Patel had not been made a minister in the last four years, but that he had been made directly the chief minister. If Gujarat was really on the road to progress, why did the BJP change its chief minister overnight?
Shiv Sena said the BJP had changed the chief minister overnight in Uttarakhand and Karnataka. In Madhya Pradesh, too, the party has signalled a change in CM’s post. Shiv Sena has demanded change of leadership not only in BJP ruled states but also in those states which are not in BJP government. However, it was his internal affair informed Shiv Sena.
