Odisha Govt to give Rs 6 Crore cash award to Pramod Bhagat

Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): The Odisha Government decided to give cash award of Rs 6 Crore to the Para-badminton Gold medalist at Tokyo Paralympics Pramod. Besides, the government also has been decided to provide a Group-A level government job.

Earlier on July 8, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had interacted with the Odisha Olympians and para-Olympians that had qualified for the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics and wished them good luck.

To motivate them, he had announced cash awards for achieving medals Rs 6 crores for the Gold medal, Rs 4 Crore for the Silver medal, and Rs 2.5 crore for the Bronze medal. A grant of Rs 15 lakhs was provided as support for their preparation for the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics.

The Odisha players in the Bronze medal-winning Indian Hockey Team Birendra Lakra and Amit Rohidas were handed over the cheques for Rs 2.5 crores immediately after their arrival in Bhubaneswar.

Pramod Bhagat is eligible for the cash award of Rs 6 Crores. He will be handed over the cheque by the Chief Minister after his arrival in Bhubaneswar. He will also be eligible for a Group A level government job.
