Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): Higher Education Minister Arun Sahoo has responded to the vacancies at various universities in the state at State Assembly today.
“There are 1,007 posts of professors and 1,660 non-teaching posts lying vacant in various universities. From Ravenshaw University, a maximum of 188 professor post and 182 non-teaching posts are lying vacant. Similarly, at Utkal University, there are 126 professor posts, including 12 non-teaching posts, 126 in Rajendra, 112 in Kalahandi, 101 in Ramadevi, 80 at Berhampur and 76 at MPC recorded,” Arun Sahu said.
“There are 61 professor posts lying vacant at Sambalpur University, 29 at Shri Jagannath Sanskrit University, 76 at Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanj Deo University, 42 at Fakir Mohan University and 66 at Gangadhar Meher University,” informed Sahu.
The selection process is underway by the Odisha Public Service Commission to fill the vacant posts of professorship. Steps are being taken to fill the non-teaching posts through the state governing body. Higher Education Minister Arun Sahoo has answered questions from MLA Amar Satpathi at assembly.
