Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): The issue of ACF Soumya Ranjan Mohapatra’s death raised in the Assembly zero hour on Tuesday. The Paralakhemundi MLA K Narayan Rao raised the issue.
By seeking attention of the honourable speaker, the Parlakhemundi MLA said that Gajapati is a peaceful district. But the current ACF deaths issue raising lots of claims. Besides, an FIR has registered against DFO, ACF’s wife and cook over the death matter.
Gajapati police been taking a month and similarly, the crime branch has been investigating for 15 days into the matter, but in vain. “Why are the police and the crime branch interrogating the three alleged persons at their home rather calling them to police station?,” said Rao.
Now another important issue has come to fore that Red Sandal wood timbers are illegally smuggled outside from the state.
“The timber is being shipped to Madras, Andhra Pradesh and Hyderabad. People are being persecuted when small things are stolen from the forest. But the DFO does not know if the sandalwood is being stolen. It seems that the government is protecting the DFO from the incident. Why is he not being replaced? The truth should come to fore,” said Rao during Zero hour.
