Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): The State Home Minister Dibya Shankar Mishra on Monday informed that the total 11,456 posts are lying vacant in Odisha Police by August 1 this year.
Replying to a query asked by Jashipur MLA Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia in the monsoon session, the Minister told the House that as many as 13 DIG posts, 15 SP posts and 248 Inspector posts are vacant in Odisha Police.
Informing the Assembly, Mishra said that a new criteria is being made to estimate requirement of police personnel in the State amid the prevailing pandemic. Necessary steps are being taken by the Home Department to fill up the vacant posts on basis of fresh recruitment and promotion, the Minister added.
