Kabul (SunstarTV Bureau): Amid the Taliban attack on Afghanistan, the US spy agency has warned the U.S. spy agency has warned of terrorist attacks there. According to an alert issued by the intelligence agency, ISIS militants are planning to attack Kabul airport. Upon receiving the information, US troops tightened security at Kabul airport.
Moreover, the intelligence agency informed that the ISIS’s Khurasan module is planning to attack people outside Kabul International Airport.
“We urge U.S. citizens not to come to the airport because of the potential security risks outside the gates of Kabul airport,” the State Department said.
“Stay away from arriving at the airport gate until a U.S. government representative tells you,” informed the US agency.
A security alert issued by the U.S. Embassy in Kabul states that U.S. citizens at AB Gate, East Gate or North Gate should be evacuated immediately. Terrorists from the ISIS Khurasan module are said already been preparing to create even more chaos at the turbulent airport.
Earlier, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that despite a 12-day campaign to evacuate Americans by air force, still has about 1,500 Americans remaining in Afghanistan. Since the Taliban arrived in Kabul on August 16, total 4,500 Americans have been evacuated during the day and night operation.
