Malkangiri (SunstarTV Bureau): Vishal Singh, district collector has cancelled as many as 48 mining lease tenders for minor minerals as per the recommendation of the Revenue Divisional Commissioner.
Prior of the matter, the former Malkangiri Collector Y Vijay was accused of tender fixing. Soon after, the RDC had carried out an investigation into the incident and recommended Singh for the cancellation.
Y Vijay allegedly received bribe to award rights to the bidders and also took the tender boxes to his residence.
However, he had refuted the allegations saying that he took the boxes to his house for security reasons.
