Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): The long wait of devotees is now over. During a meeting with Shree Lingaraj Temple Trust Board and servitors with the Khordha District Collector Sanat Kumar Mohanty, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has issued Covid guidelines and allowed reopening of the 11th century shrine from September 1 this year.
According to guidelines, devotees will not be allowed to enter the sanctum sanctorum or ‘Garbha Griha’ of the temple. Besides, the devotees are specified under guidance to follow the COVID norms properly as to wear mask, sanitize hands, to make social distance inside of premises.
Meanwhile, those devotees who received double dose of COVID vaccine will produce the vaccination certificate will be permitted to visit the shrine.
Moreover, the violators of COVID protocol the concerned person will face stringent action.
On the other hand, the temple trust board also approved a proposal submitted by the SOA University to bear the expenses for construction of silver ‘Prabha’ new Bimana and palanquin of Shree Chandrasekhar, Maa Bhubaneswari and Maa Parbati of temple.
