Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): The Health and Family Welfare Department (H&FW) on Wednesday informed that Odisha on Wednesday crossed two crore mark in COVID-19 vaccination.

Health and Family Welfare Department today tweeted, “Happy to share that Odisha has achieved a milestone in Covid-19 vaccination drive with 2 Cr doses administered successfully! We are greatful to entire Health team & to each & every citizen of the State for their proactive participation in making this drive successful.”

With this, 40 per cent of the total population in the state has taken the first vaccine dose, said official sources.

As per data available on CoWIN portal, the state has cumulatively administered 2,00,21,814 vaccine doses so far which means the state administered over one crore vaccine shots in nearly two months as it had achieved the first one crore vaccination mark on June 21.

On the day, the state Government had begun massive vaccination drive to achieve the target of 3 lakh inoculations per day. Meanwhile, the vaccination coverage in the country crossed 56 crore mark on Tuesday.
