Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): A generous amount of Rs 48.89 lakh, donated by a United State based organization to the Odisha Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, to help the state fight against the Corona pandemic.
According to an official release, Joyasree Mahanti, who has been working in different parts of Odisha since 2008 on woman empowerment, and currently managing ‘Our Biswas’. ‘Our Biswas’ provides economic support to women and girls living in abject poverty around the world.
The organization has donated USD 68,000 – Rs 49.89 lakh approximately – to the Odisha CMRF, Additional Chief Secretary Sanjeev Chopra said.
“Because of the timely decisions and appropriate action, Covid-19 situation in Odisha is within control,” Mahanti said. Odisha on Wednesday reported 8,399 new Coronavirus cases.
