Nuapada (SunstarTV Bureau): The COVID scare now havocs in state’s Nuapada district, where three villages are under Containment zones after notifying alarming positive cases, informed sources.
According to sources, an old age home in the Gram Panchayat, the Sarpanch declared Kurumpuri, Sinapali and Ghatipada villages as the containment zone with effect from 6.00 PM of July 24 till 6.00 PM of July 31 to contain spread of infections.
The local and weekly markets are to remain complete shut from July 29 till July 31. On the other hand, other shops also to remain closed for the next 7 days until further orders comes from the noted Sarpanch.
Reportedly, the persons returning from other States have been asked to quarantine themselves for seven days to prevent spread of infection among others.
The containment zone was declared after 16 inmates of an old age home located in Kurumpuri area under Komna Block were found positive for COVID-19.
Yesterday, total 944 persons had undergone antigen test, of which results of 17 came out positive. Of them, 16 infectees were from the old age home and 1 person was from Nuapada District Headquarters Hospital.
Following detection of fresh cases, a team of doctors visited the old age home to monitor the COVID situation.
