Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): The Odisha Information and Public Relation (I&PR) department on Thursday informed that as many as 1,948 new COVID-19 cases have been detected so far in the last 24 hours in State. Yesterday, a total of 79,372 samples were tested and the Test Positivity Rate (TPR) for the day stood at 2.45 per cent.
Meanwhile, Khurda district registered the highest number of COVID cases which are 480, followed by Cuttack with 279 and Jajpur with 115.
The COVID tally in Odisha escalated to 9,61,934 with 19,623 active cases.

Moreover, the State Health Department also reported 67 more deaths in the state due to COVID-19 while the toll rose to 5308. Khurda district recorded highest 20 fatalities.
