Puri (SunstarTV Bureau): After a smooth completion of the sacred festivals Shri Gundicha Jatra and Bahuda Jatra from Mausi Maa temple to Shrimandir, the trinity lord Shri Jagannath, his elder brother Lord Balabhadra and younger amongst Devi Maa Subhara are all set to adorn with heavy gold, ornaments aboard the chariots in front of the Singha Dwara on Tuesday.
The trinity Lords to give their divine darshan with Rajarajeshwar Besa popularly known as Suna Besha today.
The deities not only appear in the golden attire in Suna Besha. But also the divine golden attire can be seen in the occasion of Dussehera, Kartika Purnima, Pausa Purnima and Dolapurnima which is conducted inside the 20th century shrine. Meanwhile, only Suna Besha is celebrated atop of chariots.
According to ancient scriptures, the king Kapilendra Deb had brought huge amount of gold jewellery by conquering a neighbouring kingdom. He almost had donated all the valuable metals to the shrine in the year 1460. After wards the Suna Besha has been observing as a special rituals in pilgrim town.
Amid the pandemic situation, the curfew imposed by the temple administration under the section 144 of CrPC which is been in force at several places in Puri. Under the strict COVID protocols the restriction to remain in force till 6 am on July 24 the prohibitory order has also been clamped near Market square, Kakudi Khai square and all roads that connected to Bada Danda.
