Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): The India Government has appointed the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer Binaya Srikanta Pradhan, a native of Odisha, as the new High Commissioner of India to the United Republic of Tanzania.
A statement has issued by the Ministry of External Affairs that the 2002 batch IFS officer will join the duty soon.
Notably, Pradhan from Odisha’s Deogarh, served as a senior authority in Indian Embassies, Moscow since June 3, 2019. Similarly, he served for Turkmenistan and Pakistan between 2004 and 2012.
Later, he looked after India’s relationship with Afghanistan and Iran from New Delhi from 2012 to 2014. Besides, he worked as the Private Secretary to Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in 2014.
Currently, Binaya is working as Deputy Chief of Mission in the Embassy of India, Moscow since June 3, 2019.
Pradhan completed his schooling from government-run RBD High School, Angul in Odisha. Before joining IFS, he did his Masters from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi.
