Puri (SunstarTV Bureau): On the auspicious occasion of Bahuda Jatra on Tuesday of Trinity Lord Shree Jagannath and his siblings Lord Balabhadra and Devi Maa Subhadra, now all set to return to their homeland Puri Shrimandir, after completing their nine days long sojourn at Mausi Maa’s home.
Meanwhile, the pulling of chariots is scheduled to begin at 4 pm in front of Nakachana Dwara of Gundicha temple.
With strict adherence to Covid-19 guidelines, the festival will be conducted. Reportedly, the servitors performed the rituals as per the tradition since last night as Bahuda Kanta, Chandrabandha, Kusumilagi have been performed.
For the hassle-free journey of Lord Trinity’s chariots, the district administration of Puri has imposed a curfew which came to effect from 8 PM of July 19 to remain in force till 8 PM of July 21. Besides, the large gatherings of people on Bada Danda, rooftop, and balconies of buildings have also been prohibited.
On the other hand, the police have sealed all entry points to Puri and only local residents are allowed to move after verification. Shelters like hotels, lodges, and guesthouses on both sides of Bada Danda have been shut until the notice of government to be received, informed the official.
The district administration has also prepared a blueprint for Suna besha or golden attire (July 21) and Niladri Bije or return to the temple (July 23).
