SunstarTV Bureau: The Odisha Election Commission (EC) has begun the process of general election for Panchayati Raj Institutions, which to be held on next year 2022.
Meanwhile, the EC has asked to all the collectors across state to submit an inventory of ballot boxes from their respective districts by July 26.
Besides, a dissatisfaction been expressed by the State Election Commission over the submitted figure by district. Reportedly, the EC stated that the submitted figure in a mechanical manner are much less than the supplied ballot boxes across districts.
Moreover, the Commission directed the Collectors to ensure inventory of ballot boxes available in the district done by a senior district official, preferably the ADM or PD DRDA, and submission of actual figures to the Commission by July 26.
