Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): The Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar has predicted the southwest monsoon has become strong over the State which causes heavy rainfall and thunderstorm in several districts of Odisha on Thursday and for the next consecutive 5 days.
According to Met department the rainfall and thunderstorm likely to lash at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Nuapada, Bargarh, Sonepur, Balangir in next 24 hours.
Moreover the same likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Khordha and Puri during the period.
A low pressure area is likely to form over westcentral & adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal off north Andhra Pradesh- south Odisha coasts around 11th July,2021.
The effect of active monsoon and possible low pressure over the Bay of Bengal, cause to experience many districts of Odisha to witness heavy downpour and thunderstorm till July 13.
Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Sundargarh.
Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
Similarly, heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Kalahandi and Puri.
Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati,Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Balasore and Mayurbhanj from 8.30 am of July 10 upto 8.30 am of July 11.
Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Gajapati and Ganjam from 8.30 am of July 11 upto 8.30 am of July 12.
Yellow warning issued to these districts where heavy rainfall likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Ganjam and Mayurbhanj from 8.30 am of July 12 upto 8.30 am of July 13.
