COVID testing of staffs, servitors starts in Puri ahead of Rath Yatra

Puri (SunstarTV Bureau): In the eve of pious sacred Rath Yatra in Puri Shrimandir which is just three days away from today, as a precautionary measure the Covid-19 testing of different staffs and servitors began on Thursday, informed sources.

The RT-PCR test will be held at seven testing centres in Puri.

Among 8,000 persons including 3,000 servitors of Trinity God’s, 3,000 police officials, 1,000 chariot constructors and Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) staff will undergo the test for the second time.

Further, as many as 1,000 media and other govt employees too undergo testing process as they will be on the part of Rath Yatra in July 12.

Meanwhile, SJTA by following the guidelines conducted the health security process where for consecutive nine day annual sojourn of God Jagannath, those servitors and others to be taking part in the rituals will undergo Covid testing for four times to prevent spreading of unnecessary virus spread.

Reportedly, before Snana Purnima the servitors had undergone with Covid testing and today along with others for the second time the testing began.
