Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) on Thursday announced that the date for an offline exam for the students will commence from July 30 till August 5 this year.
The decision has made after seeing Class 10 students across Odisha protested the alternative assessment and marks awarded to them.
The board stated the Class 10 students who have been dissatisfied with the marks following the alternate assessment method can appear for the offline exam staring from July 30. The offline exam will continue till August 5.
The board further stated the exam will be conducted while adhering to the Covid guidelines.
Earlier, the Board of Secondary Education President Ramashis Hazra said marks were awarded to the Class 10 students on basis of their score in two exams and performance during Class 7, 8, 9 and 10.
But students in different parts of the State expressed their happiness over the alternate assessment method and marks awarded to them.
Worth mentioning, this year the State government cancelled the High School Certificate examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education for Class 10 students in view of Covid-19 pandemic. To award marks to Class 10 students, the board followed an alternative method of assessment this year.
