Bhubaneswar(SunstarTVBureau): Another milestone being set by the Odisha Students as they got selected in the National Aeronautical Space Agency (NASA) competition by developing fastener or nuts and bolts which will be part of NASA’s space launch.

Reportedly, the nuts and bolts have been developed by using four different metals by the 7-member team of Young Tinker Academy from the State. This experiment of the team has reportedly been selected for the next space mission of NASA.

The fasteners developed by the students will be part of NASA’s SR-7 rocket mission scheduled for June 24.

The nuts and bolts will be sent in the rocket to check whether they could stand out in the space.

“It was too difficult to develop the fasteners. We worked for 24 hours- researching and searching for the proper materials. We learned many new things during the entire process and it was a great experience,” said a young scientist from the team, Shreya.

Anil Pradhan, CEO of the Young Tinker Academy, said, “If we start testing of these small components from today onwards, our future missions will be successful ones.

“At a time when the world is thinking of reaching to Mars and colonisation there, it becomes necessary to fix such little things like these nuts and bolts, said Pradhan adding, “We need to make these small things more sustainable and viable.

“Hundreds of participants from 73 countries had taken part in the ‘Cubes in Space’ competition.
