Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): With an special grant of Rs 25 Crore, the Odisha chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday dedicated Covid equipment worth Rs 25 crore by Western Odisha Development Council (WODC) for 11 western districts.
Meanwhile, the sum amount has given to WODC for Covid management, informed sources.
The districts of Bargarh, Balangir, Boudh, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Sundargarh and parts of Angul will benefit from this.
The additional amount has granted to utilise that for developing additional ICU bed facilities, oxygen concentrators, personal protective equipment kits, N-95 masks, procuring critical diagnostic equipment required for Covid specific tests, oxygen pipes and purchase of pulse oximeter.
According to Naveen, “the special intervention will strengthen the fight against Covid in the western districts. Reiterating that every life is precious, the chief minister directed officials to ensure that all people should get good quality treatment.”
Further, the WODC chairperson Asit Tripathy said that the equipment and consumables were procured based on the need of districts in their fight against the pandemic.
