Puri (SunstarTV Bureau): The world famous Ratha Jatra of Lord Jagannath will be held in Puri sans devotees in adherence to all COVID-19 safety norms.
However, the annual festival has been cancelled in all other parts of the state, informed the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) .
Informing this, Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Pradeep Jena today said the car festival will be held in accordance to the guidelines issued by the Supreme Court. Those who tested negative for COVID-19 or have taken both the vaccine jabs will be selected to participate in the festival.
The SRC further informed that curfew will be imposed in Puri by the district administration during Ratha Jatra to restrict entry of outsiders. Trains and other vehicles will also not be allowed to enter Puri.
However, live telecast feed of the festival will be supplied to media outlets, he added.
