Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): The state information technology (IT) and health and family welfare department has added a new feature in both the state Covid dashboard and Covid portal to help people to get the test result both for RT-PCR and rapid antigen test (RAT) tests inside home.
With the launching of the facility, chief minister Naveen Patnaik said, “Technology has always been a big bulwark during the fight against the pandemic. Hassle free provision of information regarding Covid test to people will not only smoothen the process but also give a huge relief to the people during these trying times.”
The chief minister added that it has been our effort to provide free testing-cum-treatment to protect precious lives, especially to the vulnerable people.
“We have significantly increased our capacity to conduct RT-PCR testing by setting up RT-PCR test centres across most districts where service will be provided to people every day, further strengthening the fight against the pandemic,” said Naveen.
State IT secretary Manoj Mishra said even as the state government has increased testing numbers, people are facing some difficulties in accessing the results. “People are facing issues like delay in getting the test results, receiving no communication for testing negative and rushing to the laboratories to get the test results,” said Mishra.
To access the test results, an individual has to click at the “known your Covid test status” at the home page of both the dashboard and Covid portal. Then he/she has to enter their mobile number or specimen referral form (SRF) ID following which an OTP will be generated on the registered mobile number. After entering the OTP, one can get his/her positive and negative test result. The facility can be availed both from laptop/desktop or mobile phone. It is accessible both in Odia and English.
“To maintain data security and privacy, we have ensured that the test results can be accessed by the person concerned only by using the registered mobile number. One person cannot access test results of another person,” said Mishra.
The test report generated digitally will carry all the details of the person undergone test, including the QR code which can be used by any designate agency to verify the authenticity of the report at any time.
