Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): The Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar has issued red warning for as many as eight districts of Odisha in view of the forecasted Cyclone Yaas over Bay of Bengal.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar with extremely heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara and Mayurbhanj (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 26.05.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 27.05.2021), the Meteorological Centre forecasted and issued Red Warning for the districts.
Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal and Khurda during the same period, the Meteorological Centre added and issued Yellow Warning for the districts.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Puri and heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal and Ganjam (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 25.05.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 26.05.2021), it predicted.
Cyclone Yaas is likely to cross north Odisha-West Bengal between Paradip and Sagar Island by evening of 26th May as a Very Severe Cyclonic Storm.
