Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): To avert the fire accidents in Odisha’s several Covid hospitals, the Odisha Fire Services department has deployed as many as 384 fire personnel with basic firefighting and rescue machinery across 62 Covid hospitals.

The initiatives has been taken after the wake of several fire mishaps in country claiming tonnes of lives and causing damage to hospital property.

A total of 384 fire personnel working in 3 shifts round the clock have been deployed at the Covid hospitals for the purpose, stated a press release shared by the Directorate of Fire Services.

As per the issued note, in the event of any fire outbreak in any of these hospitals, these personnel will take immediate necessary steps to extinguish the blaze and report the incident to the nearest Fire Station.

In order to remain prepared for any exigencies through proper training and sensitization of authorities, mock drills are being regularly conducted at Covid hospitals and Covid Care Centres as per the directive of DG, Fire Services.
