Lockdown in Odisha: BMC to provide packaged food to 12 Aahar centres in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): Considering the lock down protocol Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to provide packed food in all 12 Aahar centres of the State Capital.

As per the instruction of BMC commissioner, Prem Chandra Chaudhary the initiatives to commence on Wednesday.

According to Deputy Commissioner, Kamala Kanta Behera, “Citizens badly require Aahar food which is safe and cheap for them should not be debarred due to lock down. Abiding lock down protocols and not to discourage Aahar beneficiaries the ULB authority has taken this novel decission.”

He further said, “this is a step forward to consider the requirements of citizens those are consuming Aahar food. In 12 Aahar centres of Bhubaneswar meal quantity has been reduced as foot fall is lessened.”

“It is felt that the requirement of meal will be less in view of pandemic lock down. For which the number of meals have been reduced to avoid wastages and it will be increased based on demand based on requirements,” told the Deputy Commissioner.
