SunstarTV Bureau: Amidst sharp COVID-19 surge in state, western region of the State as daily flight services from Jharsuguda Airport to major new destinations commenced on Saturday, informed sources.
According to sources, India’s low-cost airline SpiceJet flight, headquartered in Gurgaon, began its transport operations on a new route connecting Jharsuguda with Amritsar and Guwahati via Patna.
Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) informed about commencement of SpiceJet flight on its Twitter handle on Friday.
“Commencement of SpiceJet flight from Veer Surendra Sai Airport, Jharsuguda in the route Amritsar-Patna-Jharsuguda-Patna-Guwahati from Saturday will further boost connectivity for Western Odisha. Daily flight will benefit travelers, students, professionals & businesses,” CMO tweeted.
As per information, the daily SpiceJet flight will start from Amritsar to Jharsuguda via Patna. From Jharsuguda, the same flight will take up to Guwahati via Patna.
Initially, the 120-seater flight will fly on the above-mentioned route. The aviation firm will operate a 180-seater flight on the route later in view of bookings.
The flight services connecting two major cities from Jharsuguda will benefit the western Odisha people.
