Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): The current statement of Chief of Directorate of Medical Education and Training (DMET) CBK Mohanty on Monday said that the Covid-19 graph is plateauing has provided some respite to many.
By adressing the media persons, Mohanty informed that Odisha is witnessing daily Covid-19 cases between 6,000 and 6,500 which signify that it is plateauing.
“In medical science, there is nothing absolute. Hence, we can say that we are in plateauing stage as the State has not witnessed a sharp increase in COVID-19 cases in the past few days. We hope that the Covid graph will start witnessing a declining trend soon,” said Mohanty.
According to Mohanty, usually there is an upsurge trend and subsequently plateau and then declining stage which is a natural course during any epidemic or pandemic situation.
“As the Covid-19 cases are now at a constant level, I think it is in plateau stage. We pray to God that there is no peak from here,” said Mohanty.
