Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): Amid the black shadow of deadly virus across Odisha, a hope was being raised by Dr CBK Mohanty, director of Directorate of Medical Education and Training (DMET) statement on Saturday.
By speaking to media persons, Mohanty said the rate of Covid-19 infection will slow down in Odisha in the second week of May.
Moreover he said that, the situation in state is far better than other states. The number of cases will decrease around second week of May. There are no reports of the triple mutant variant of the virus in the state yet.
The new virant was first reported in Kolkata on October 25.
“We have so far supplied 250 metric tonne of medical oxygen. The state has surplus amount of medical oxygen in stock and that is why we are supplying the same to other needy states.”
“There is no shortage of beds in hospitals too. All district Collectors have been asked to further increase the number of beds to tackle any possible eventuality in the coming days,” says Mohanty.
Meanwhile, the Odisha government has imposed weekend shutdown in all urban areas of the State began today to break the strain of deadly virus chain.
