Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): The Regional Meteorological Department on Wednesday has predicted thunderstorm with lightning at isolated places in 10 districts of Odisha today. Meanwhile on Tuesday a respite came to Southern place of State as light to moderate rain accompanied with thunderstorm lashed in several districts.
According to Met Centre director HR Biswas confirmation, “light to moderate rain accompanied with thunderstorm occurred at one or two places in Southern parts of Odisha on Tuesday. Nuagada in Gajapati district received the highest rainfall of 28.2mm.”
On April 21 and 22:
Meanwhile, today Met department has issued yellow warning for thunderstorm with lightning which is expected to occur at one or two places in Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Rayagada and Gajapati.
Similarly, light to moderate rain or thundershower activity is expected to occur at one or two places in the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Bolangir, Sonepur, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sambalpur and Nabarangpur during the same period.
However, dry weather is likely to prevail over the rest of the State today and tomorrow.
On April 22 and 23:
Yellow warning for thunderstorm with lightning has also been predicted to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Gajapati, Ganjam, Khurda,Puri, Nayagarh,Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Kandhamal, Angul, and Dhenkanal.
Meanwhile, the day temperature in Odisha to remain same for the next 4-5 days, informed Met Department.
As per the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) prediction, Bhubaneswar might witness partly cloudy sky with possibility of thunder or lightning in 24 hours. The maximum and minimum temperature is expected to be around 40 Degree Celsius and 26 Degree Celsius respectively.
